Rockstar confirms development
In an official post, Rockstar Games confirms that "development of the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway". No title, no date: just confirmation that GTA 6 exists.

Trailer 1: Vice City and Lucia
The first official trailer reveals the return to Vice City, the state of Leonida and Lucia, the first female protagonist in the mainline series. Announced window: 2025. The trailer breaks viewing records on YouTube.

Delay to 26 May 2026 and trailer 2
Rockstar pushes the release from 2025 to 26 May 2026, explaining it wants to ship the game "at the level of quality it deserves". The second trailer follows, detailing the Lucia and Jason duo as well as the supporting cast.
